“Oster Toaster Oven Recall Widened for Door Hazard”

Must read

Health Canada has broadened a recall for various Oster toaster oven models due to issues with the glass French doors that may close unexpectedly, potentially causing burns to consumers. The affected models include TSSTTVFDXL, TSSTTVFDDGDS, TSSTTVFDDG-033, TSSTTVFDXLPP-033, and TSSTTVFDDAF-033, all experiencing the same malfunction. Consumers can locate the model number on the appliance’s back or the original packaging.

Originally recalled in September, the health agency has added another model, Model TSSTTVFDDG-033, to the recall list. Oster reports that 104,195 units were sold in Canada between August 2015 and July 2025. Health Canada advises consumers to immediately stop using the affected ovens and contact Sunbeam Products Inc. for a complimentary repair kit.

Oster will provide customers with a clip-on device to prevent the doors from closing during oven use and instructions for installation, but refunds or replacements are not offered. The recall extends to models sold in the U.S., where 95 injuries due to unexpected door closures have been reported, including two second-degree burns. No injuries have been reported in Canada.

For more information, Canadians can visit https://recall.oster.com or reach out to Sunbeam at 1-800-667-8623 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday.
