French video game “Clair Obscur: Expedition 33” emerged victorious as the game of the year at The Game Awards held in Los Angeles. The indie game dominated the awards ceremony by clinching a total of nine awards, including best game direction, best narrative, and best independent game, following its 12 nominations. Developed by Sandfall and Kepler Interactive, the game is a role-playing adventure set in a dark fantasy realm where characters strive to break a recurring curse that claims lives annually of those above a certain age.

Viewers got a sneak peek at the next installments in the “Tomb Raider” series, with Amazon Game Studios and Crystal Dynamics introducing “Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis” and “Tomb Raider: Catalyst,” promising new adventures for the iconic character Lara Croft.

Star Wars enthusiasts were treated to trailers for “Fate of the Old Republic” and “Galactic Racer,” two eagerly anticipated games featuring beloved film characters. Furthermore, the makers of “Resident Evil” unveiled that Leon S. Kennedy would be a second protagonist in the ninth edition, “Resident Evil Requiem.” Larian Studios, known for “Baldur’s Gate 3,” teased a new game titled “Divinity.”

The return of musician Pedro Eustache, fondly known as “flute guy,” at the awards ceremony’s final performance sparked joy among fans, as he showcased his talent with multiple wind instruments.
