Vladimir Guerrero Jr., the standout first baseman for the Blue Jays, has been named a finalist for the prestigious Silver Slugger award for the second consecutive year. The Silver Slugger awards, recognizing the top offensive players at each position in every league, were announced by Major League Baseball on Friday. In addition to Guerrero, Toronto’s shortstop Bo Bichette and designated hitter George Springer have also been named as finalists.

The winners of the Silver Slugger awards, determined through votes from Major League managers and coaches excluding players from their own teams, will be revealed on November 7. Guerrero, who secured the AL first-base award in 2021, showcased an impressive performance by hitting .292 with 23 home runs and 93 RBIs while only striking out 94 times in 589 at-bats.

Bichette, despite missing the final three weeks of the regular season due to a knee sprain, ranked second in the MLB with 181 hits. He boasted a .311 batting average along with 18 home runs and 94 RBIs. Springer, aiming for his third Silver Slugger accolade and the first since 2019, had an outstanding comeback season in 2025. The 36-year-old achieved a career-best batting average of .309, along with 32 home runs and 84 RBIs.
