Several lanes and ramps on Highway 417 will undergo closure this weekend as construction activities progress to replace the Preston, Rochester, and Booth Street bridges. The closures are scheduled to commence on Friday night and are anticipated to last until around 5 a.m. on Monday.
Throughout the weekend, the left lane of Highway 417 eastbound from the O-Train to Bronson Avenue will be closed continuously. Additionally, the center lane in that specific area will experience nightly closures. On the westbound side of Highway 417, the right lane from O’Connor to Bronson will be closed as well.
Closure will also affect the eastbound Parkdale on-ramp, eastbound Rochester off-ramp, and westbound Bronson off-ramps. Kiewit Dufferin Midtown Partnership, the company responsible for replacing the bridges and noise barriers along the highway, stated in a press release that these closures are necessary to facilitate the transportation of concrete slabs, along with activities such as excavation, asphalt paving, line painting, and drainage enhancements.
