Ottawa Redblacks Fire Head Coach After Disappointing Season

Must read

The Ottawa Redblacks have terminated head coach Bob Dyce following the team’s sixth consecutive loss to end the season. The decision was made after Ottawa’s 35-15 defeat to Hamilton, causing them to miss the CFL playoffs for the fifth time since their 2018 Grey Cup appearance. Dyce had been part of the Redblacks since 2016, initially as the special-teams coordinator before assuming the head coach position in 2022.

While Dyce led Ottawa to a 9-8-1 record and their first playoff spot in five years last season, the team’s performance declined significantly this year, finishing with a 4-14 record. His overall record as head coach stands at 18-39-1. General manager Shawn Burke described the decision as a challenging one, recognizing Dyce’s dedication and strong work ethic throughout his tenure with the team.
