Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime secures a spot in the European Open final after defeating Belgium’s Raphael Collignon 7-6 (2), 6-4 in the semifinals of the tennis tournament. Auger-Aliassime showcased strong performance, firing eight aces, committing only one double fault, and winning 78% of his first-serve points. He capitalized on one of his three break-point opportunities in the one-hour, 45-minute match. In contrast, Collignon, despite delivering five aces, struggled with four double faults and failed to create any break-point chances during the match.

The second-seeded Auger-Aliassime is set to face third-seeded Jiri Lehecka of Czechia in the final on Sunday. Meanwhile, in a separate event, Canada’s Denis Shapovalov faced Norway’s Casper Ruud in the semifinals of the Stockholm Open tennis tournament. Shapovalov, the third seed, fell short in a 6-3, 6-4 loss to Ruud, the second seed. Shapovalov managed six aces and four double faults, converting one of his five break-point opportunities. On the other hand, Ruud had two aces, double faulted once, and successfully converted three out of his six break-point chances.

Ruud is now set to compete against France’s Ugo Humbert in the final after Humbert advanced due to a walkover against top-seeded Holger Rune of Denmark, who sustained an injury during the second set.
