The Los Angeles Dodgers emerged victorious with a 3-1 win over the Milwaukee Brewers in Game 3 of the National League Championship Series (NLCS). Tommy Edman’s crucial single in the sixth inning off rookie Jacob Misiorowski broke the tie, propelling the Dodgers to a 3-0 series lead.

This victory brings the Dodgers within one win of being the first defending champions to reach the World Series since the 2009 Philadelphia Phillies. The last team to achieve back-to-back titles was the New York Yankees from 1998 to 2000.

Shohei Ohtani’s early triple and Mookie Betts’ double gave the Dodgers an initial lead, but Jake Bauers’ RBI single leveled the score. The only run against Tyler Glasnow was scored in the second inning, maintaining the excellent 1.54 postseason ERA for Dodgers’ starters.

Misiorowski’s impressive pitching performance included a record-breaking nine strikeouts of Brewers’ postseason rookies. Edman’s clutch hit brought in the go-ahead run, followed by a wild throw from Abner Uribe that allowed another run to score.

Glasnow’s strong outing of 5 2/3 innings, along with solid relief pitching, secured the win for the Dodgers. Roki Sasaki closed the game with a flawless ninth inning.

Despite their regular-season success against the Dodgers, the Brewers have struggled in the postseason, losing their last 10 road games dating back to 2018. The Dodgers’ pitching staff has been exceptional, allowing minimal runs and hits in the series.

Looking ahead, Ohtani will make his second postseason start for the Dodgers, while Milwaukee is yet to announce their starting pitcher for the next game.
