A male individual is in critical condition following the discovery of a gunshot wound in Centretown during the early hours of Wednesday, as reported by the Ottawa Paramedic Service. The incident prompted a call to paramedics at 1:34 a.m. regarding a structure in the 500 block of Somerset Street W., where the injured man was located inside.
By midday on Wednesday, law enforcement officials were observed moving in and out of 568 Somerset St. W., with the front area of the building cordoned off. Paramedics provided immediate care to the man on-site before transferring him to a medical facility in critical condition.
The Ottawa police have initiated an investigation into the matter and are urging individuals with relevant information to reach out to the guns and gangs unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 5050.
