Singer Chappell Roan Cuts Ties with Olympics Head’s Agency

Pop singer Chappell Roan announced her departure from the talent agency overseen by Casey Wasserman, the head of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics, following revelations of past email exchanges with Ghislaine Maxwell, a convicted sex trafficker. Wasserman expressed regret over the communication with Maxwell after private messages between the two surfaced.

Recently disclosed files linked to the late financier and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, Maxwell’s former partner, revealed flirtatious emails between Wasserman, who was married at the time, and Maxwell dating back to 2003. Roan took to Instagram to declare her separation from Wasserman’s agency, emphasizing the importance of artists aligning with values and receiving support that upholds their well-being and honor.

Wasserman, a prominent figure in sports and entertainment, denied any personal or professional ties to Epstein. While acknowledging his past association with Maxwell, Wasserman clarified that it predated the exposure of her and Epstein’s criminal activities. The talent agency led by Wasserman refrained from commenting immediately on the matter.

Maxwell, currently serving a 20-year prison term following a 2021 conviction in New York for offenses such as minor sex trafficking, was apprehended in 2020 on charges of aiding Epstein in the recruitment and grooming of young girls for illicit activities between 1994 and 2004. The release of extensive internal documents by the U.S. Justice Department regarding Epstein has shed light on his connections with various influential individuals, both prior to and after his 2008 guilty plea to prostitution charges involving a minor. Epstein’s demise in a Manhattan detention facility in 2019 was ruled a suicide.
