“Stranger Things Finale Tickets Sell at High Prices”

If you were lucky enough to secure tickets to watch the final episode of Stranger Things in theaters on either Wednesday or Thursday, consider yourself fortunate. Many fans are now resorting to social media platforms to purchase resale tickets at prices significantly higher than the original cost.

The concluding episode of the beloved sci-fi series is set to premiere on Netflix at 8 p.m. ET on New Year’s Eve, along with select theatrical screenings across Canada and the United States.

The tickets, initially priced at $11 each and released for sale on December 2, come with an $11 concession stand voucher due to talent residuals constraints. This essentially means that attendees will break even on their event purchase.

Cineplex, the host of many Canadian screenings, reported that tickets for the nationwide events sold out “almost immediately.”

“A very limited number of seats remain available at select theaters,” mentioned Michelle Saba, Cineplex’s vice president of communications, in an email to CBC News.

Landmark Cinemas is also showcasing the finale, with its website indicating that seats are nearly sold out nationwide.

This scarcity has led fans like Omar Hassanali from Mississauga, Ont., to search Facebook Marketplace for theater tickets.

Hassanali, who discovered the theatrical release a few days post ticket release, found only a limited number of tickets available when he tried to make a purchase – mostly single seats or those near the screen.

Hassanali’s children, now aged 13 and 15, have been catching up on previous seasons to enjoy the show with him, and he was hoping they could witness the finale with other enthusiastic fans.

“It’s also about giving the kids that experience … of eagerly anticipating something grand at the movie theater,” he expressed. “If something extraordinary occurs and everyone is gasping in shock, it adds to the overall experience.”

Resellers have offered Hassanali tickets at prices ranging from $25 to $200 each. “Some kind individuals have offered $25, while the most expensive is $200 per ticket,” mentioned Hassanali, who aimed to secure six tickets for his family of four and two cousins.
