Anne Murray has held the record for most Juno Award wins since 1993 with 25 trophies. Now, after receiving the Lifetime Achievement award at the 2025 Junos, she’s upped her record for a grand total of 26.
The folk and country singer was introduced by Sarah McLachlan, who said “There’s no one like her.” She continued, highlighting their East Coast connection: “Her songs were the soundtrack to my childhood and I still know the words to every one.”
Murray reminisced about her storied career, the ways the music industry has changed since she got her start and her lasting place in it. In a beautiful moment, she shared what music has always meant to her: “When I look back, it seems clear that singing never felt like a choice for me, I had to do it, it felt as natural as breathing.”
