Dan Levy was visibly emotional as he returned to the Ontario community where the popular series “Schitt’s Creek” was filmed. Levy, the co-creator of the show, visited the location in Goodwood, Ont., as part of an interview with CBS’s “Sunday Morning.”
Reflecting on his time there, Levy expressed his difficulty in being back and was moved to tears while standing in front of the former Rose Apothecary, a boutique shop his character David operated in Season 3. He mentioned the memories he shared with his co-star Catherine O’Hara, whose unexpected passing in January saddened many.
O’Hara, a beloved Canadian actress known for her roles in iconic films like “Home Alone” and “Beetlejuice,” as well as her portrayal of Moira Rose in “Schitt’s Creek,” passed away due to a blood clot in her lung. Her death shocked Hollywood and her devoted fans.
In the interview, Levy disclosed that he had considered a reboot of the series but put those plans on hold following O’Hara’s death. He cherished the memories of working with her on the show and highlighted her talent and impact on the iconic scenes she created as Moira.
Despite the success of “Schitt’s Creek,” which garnered numerous awards, Levy is now focused on his new Netflix series, “Big Mistakes,” which premieres on April 9. He emphasized the importance of creating content that brings him joy and not being burdened by comparisons to the acclaimed “Schitt’s Creek.”
