Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, the Canadian creative duo, are revisiting the nostalgic favorite, “The Littlest Hobo,” to bring a fresh perspective to new audiences. The revamped version of the beloved Canadian series was announced as part of Bell Media’s upcoming screen projects on Thursday and is planned as a live-action scripted show.

“The Littlest Hobo,” which aired on CTV from 1979 to 1985, followed the adventures of a clever and ownerless German shepherd that roamed from town to town, aiding those in need. Rogen and Goldberg, referring to the show as a foundational part of their childhood, expressed their enthusiasm for reimagining it for a contemporary audience.

In a statement, the duo assured fans that while the hobo character would remain small in size, the upcoming adventures would be monumental. Production specifics, casting details, and the premiere date of the show will be disclosed at a later time.

The revival of “The Littlest Hobo” is a collaborative effort between Rogen’s Point Grey Pictures, Lionsgate, and a tribute to their Canadian roots. This latest project follows their successful comedy series, “The Studio,” which garnered both Emmy and Golden Globe awards.

Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, both Vancouver natives, have a history of producing hit TV shows and movies such as “Superbad,” “Pineapple Express,” “The Boys,” and a reboot of “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.” Emphasizing their commitment to Canadian content, they expressed their dedication to creating exceptional and commercially successful projects through their partnerships with Bell Media and Lionsgate Canada.
