Cardi B is showing her serious side to her fans in Canada, specifically those in Hamilton. Amid her ongoing Little Miss Drama Tour in North America, she pointed out that while many tour dates are selling out, the Hamilton show on March 31 is not seeing the same level of ticket sales.
In a now-expired Instagram story post, Cardi B issued a light-hearted warning to her fans in the Hamilton area, urging them to buy tickets to avoid breaking her streak of sold-out shows. She mentioned that most tour dates are nearly sold out, but the Hamilton show at TD Coliseum has only sold about 80% of its tickets in comparison.
Ticketmaster maps reviewed by CBC News indicate that there are still numerous tickets available for the Hamilton date, while only a few scattered seats remain for a Toronto show scheduled the day before. Similarly, shows in Kansas City, Chicago, and Newark also have a limited number of seats available.
Despite efforts to verify the ticket sales percentages with Ticketmaster, CBC News has not received confirmation yet. Tickets for the Hamilton show are priced around $118, with Toronto tickets starting at $314. However, some resale tickets in Toronto are listed as low as $230 each.
Cardi B previously made history by selling out consecutive nights at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles and has had sold-out shows in various cities. She also successfully sold out a show in Vancouver after issuing a similar warning to fans.
Hamilton Mayor Andrea Horwath expressed that Hamilton remains a music-loving city, emphasizing the community’s enthusiasm for live events. Local artist Leon (Eklipz) Robinson echoed this sentiment, attributing the ticket sales to economic factors like rising living costs.
Robinson noted that despite the lack of promotional ads for the concert, Cardi B’s callout may boost ticket sales and lead to a sold-out show. Cardi B has upcoming tour stops in Chicago and New York City before heading to Toronto and Hamilton at the end of the month.
