P.E.I. Artist Paul Alan Showcases Paintings at Louvre Entrance
Renowned artist Paul Alan from Prince Edward Island has achieved a remarkable feat by having his artwork displayed at the entrance of the iconic Louvre Museum in Paris. Several of Alan’s captivating paintings were recently showcased on digital screens at the Carrousel du Louvre, an underground shopping area that serves as an entry point to the world’s most-visited museum.
Reflecting on this prestigious exposure, Alan expressed his awe, stating, “It’s very cool. It’s almost unreal when I’m looking at it.” Collaborating with a group that promotes artists globally, Alan had the opportunity to submit his work for consideration. Once accepted, his artwork was digitally exhibited alongside physical art pieces on screens within the exhibition space.
Alan’s art has not only graced the Louvre but also made appearances at other prominent venues. Earlier this summer, his work was featured at the Swiss Art Expo at Zurich Main Station, Switzerland’s busiest train station. Recalling a heartwarming moment when a friend spotted his painting displayed on a large screen, Alan shared, “It’s pretty neat.”
Exploring digital art exhibitions has opened new avenues for Alan, allowing his work to garner broader exposure compared to traditional online platforms like social media. These international showcases not only enhance his portfolio but also attract visitors to his website through strategically placed QR codes next to the digital displays.
While acknowledging that digital exhibitions may not fully capture the intricacies of his original paintings, Alan remains grateful for the opportunity. Looking ahead, he plans to continue seeking diverse opportunities to showcase his art, alongside his wife, who creates hooked rugs. Alan emphasized, “We just keep doing it for the fun of it.”
