CF Montreal has terminated assistant coach Maxime Leconte after an internal disciplinary review. The Major League Soccer team announced the decision without disclosing the specific grounds for Leconte’s dismissal due to confidentiality reasons.
Leconte, a 35-year-old French native, had only been with the club for a brief period since joining the coaching staff in May. His departure comes following the recent appointment of Marco Donadel as CF Montreal’s permanent head coach, replacing him in the role.
Donadel, who initially took over on an interim basis in March, successfully navigated the team through a challenging season that culminated in a 6-18-10 record. CF Montreal notably fielded the youngest roster and operated with the lowest payroll in Major League Soccer during the season.
