Peabo Bryson, a renowned R&B singer who won a Grammy and lent his voice to iconic Disney duets like Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin’s A Whole New World, has passed away at the age of 75.
The family expressed gratitude for the love and touching impact Bryson had on many lives through his music. Beyond his Disney hits, Bryson enjoyed a successful career spanning over five decades with popular songs like Feel the Fire, I’m So Into You, and Can You Stop the Rain.
Celine Dion, who collaborated with Bryson on Beauty and the Beast, shared her condolences online, praising Bryson’s talent and the joy his music brought into her life.
Throughout his career, Bryson earned multiple Grammy nominations and awards, including one for his duet with Regina Belle. His latest album, Grace, released in February, marked his return to the studio after an 11-year hiatus.
Apart from music, Bryson also ventured into stage productions and had a successful recovery from a heart attack in 2019. Sadly, he suffered a stroke in late May, leading to his hospitalization.
Colleagues and fans, including R&B artists Jody Watley and Kenny Lattimore, and Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens, paid tribute to Bryson online. The family plans to announce memorial arrangements at a later date.
