Toronto proceeded to triumph over the Seattle Mariners in a seven-game AL Championship Series before ultimately succumbing to the Dodgers in a thrilling 11-inning World Series finale.
Shapiro praised the team’s resilience in tough situations, highlighting their ability to thrive when faced with adversity. The Blue Jays wasted no time transitioning from their deep playoff run to the start of free agency.
Shortstop Bo Bichette, a key player who transitioned to second base during the World Series due to a knee injury, received a qualifying offer for the 2026 season from the Blue Jays. The team is keen on retaining the two-time All-Star, acknowledging his significance to the roster.
Notable free agents also include pitchers Max Scherzer, Chris Bassitt, and Seranthony Dominguez, along with infielders Ty France and Isiah Kiner-Falefa. The Blue Jays are in a favorable position to maintain continuity in their squad for the upcoming season.
