Toronto rapper Drake has broken Michael Jackson’s long-standing record for the most No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 by a solo male artist. His latest track, “Janice STFU,” debuted at the top of the chart this week alongside his trilogy of albums.
Drake now holds a career total of 14 chart-toppers, tying him with Taylor Swift and Rihanna for the most No. 1 singles among all artists. Only Mariah Carey, with 19, and The Beatles, with 20, have more No. 1 hits.
Additionally, Drake set a new record for the most entries on the Hot 100 in a single week, with 42 songs making it onto the chart, surpassing Morgan Wallen’s 2025 record of 37.
The artist has often referenced Michael Jackson in his recent music, drawing comparisons between his own legacy and the pop icon’s. The cover of his latest album, “Iceman,” also pays homage to Jackson with a rhinestone-studded glove reminiscent of the late singer’s signature accessory.
In a groundbreaking achievement, Drake secured the top three positions on Billboard’s top 200 album chart with his trilogy of albums: “Iceman,” “Habibti,” and “Maid of Honour” debuting at Nos. 1, 2, and 3, respectively. These releases mark Drake’s first solo projects since his public feud with Kendrick Lamar in 2024, with subtle references to the rivalry embedded in several tracks.
Before the release of “Iceman,” Drake orchestrated various public stunts, including a light show at Toronto’s CN Tower and the surprise drop of the other two albums. The highly anticipated “Iceman” album launch on May 15 saw the CN Tower illuminated in an icy-blue color to mark the occasion.
