An investigation is currently ongoing in connection to Australian actress Ruby Rose’s claim that Katy Perry sexually assaulted her at a nightclub many years ago, which Perry denies. State police in Victoria, Australia, are looking into allegations of a “historical sexual assault” that reportedly took place in Melbourne around 2010, aligning with Rose’s account of an incident at the Spice Market Nightclub nearly two decades ago. The Orange is The New Black star made the accusation on Threads, responding to a post about Perry’s reaction to Justin Bieber’s Coachella performance that night.
Rose mentioned she had visited the police station but did not initially plan to file a report, emphasizing the importance of expressing such experiences. Representatives for both Rose and Perry have been contacted for comments, with Perry’s representative denying the claims as “categorically false and dangerous.” Victoria Police has refrained from providing additional comments on the matter.
In a series of posts, Rose detailed the alleged assault that occurred when she was in her early 20s, describing Perry’s actions and mentioning a subsequent agreement between them. Following the revelations, Perry was spotted at the Coachella music festival with her partner, former prime minister Justin Trudeau. Perry shared photos and a video on Instagram reacting to Bieber’s performance, in which she humorously mentioned his use of YouTube Premium.
