Legendary rock band Rush has teased a special event at the upcoming 2026 Juno Awards in Hamilton. In a message to fans, the band hinted at a unique moment with Geddy & Alex and provided a link to purchase tickets for the March 29 event.

Last fall, Rush’s Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson announced plans for a 2026 tour, marking their first public performance with new drummer Anika Nilles, who joined the band following the passing of Neil Peart in 2020. Nilles, known for her drumming skills showcased on a popular YouTube channel and during a previous tour with Jeff Beck in 2022, impressed Lee during a recent interview.

Although details remain scarce, if Rush performs at the Juno Awards, it will be the first opportunity for fans to see the current lineup ahead of their upcoming world tour dubbed Fifty Something. The tour is set to commence in Los Angeles in June, with stops in Toronto, Vancouver, and Edmonton throughout the year.

Formed in Toronto in 1968, Rush has a storied history, releasing 19 studio albums and achieving numerous accolades, including 10 Juno Awards. The band’s most recent release, “Grace Under Pressure: Super Deluxe,” features a historic 1984 concert at Toronto’s Maple Leaf Gardens, showcasing the band’s peak creativity.

In addition to their musical achievements, Rush has a strong Juno Awards history, winning accolades such as most promising group in 1975 and group of the year in 1978 and 1979. Their success extends to various album sales milestones, with fans eagerly anticipating their upcoming performances and releases.

CBC Music has reached out to Rush for further insights on their plans for the Juno Awards and beyond.
